The Florida Gators have played pretty stout defense for the most part thus far (particularly against the run) in their big test against the third-ranked Crimson Tide, but Alabama quarterback Blake Sims has managed to put up some big numbers with some highlight reel-worthy plays throughout the afternoon.

As I’m writing this (6:04 pm ET), Sims has connected on 18 of 26 passes for 357 yards with three touchdowns and one interception mid-way through the third quarter with the game tied at 21-21.
Sims’ biggest play of the day thus far came when he found a remarkably wide open Amari Cooper for a 79-yard touchdown pass with just over four minutes left in the opening quarter.

Sims could enter the Heisman discussion if he continues to shine and lead his team to victory, but star receiver and projected 2015 NFL Draft first round pick Amari Cooper is already a Heisman contender.
